The Rev. James Sullivan
The Rev. James Sullivan has served as Rector of Covenant Church since 2022. He and his wife, Helena, are the parents of two children, Ruth and Ransom.
Fr. James holds a Master of Arts in Ancient History from Hebrew Union College in Cincinnati, Ohio. He is also a United States Navy veteran, having served as a Hospital Corpsman with the United States Marine Corps.
His ministry is marked by a deep love for Holy Scripture, the Book of Common Prayer, and the classical Anglican tradition. His theological outlook has been especially shaped by the Caroline Divines, including Lancelot Andrewes, Richard Hooker, John Cosin, George Herbert, and Jeremy Taylor.
Outside the parish, Fr. James enjoys reading classic literature aloud with his family, playing board games, and cooking. Among his favorite authors are Anthony Trollope, C. S. Lewis, and J. R. R. Tolkien.
