Historic Liturgy in Montcalm County
(No, our sanctuary does not look like this; but we hope it will soon!)

What to Expect on Sunday
Whether you are exploring the Christian faith for the first time or visiting an Anglican church for the first time, we want you to feel welcome. We believe it is a kindness to be clear about who we are and how we worship, so that visitors may come prepared and at ease.
Our Sunday life together is shaped by Christian education, prayer, and the reverent celebration of Holy Communion according to the historic Anglican tradition.
Christian Education — 10:00 a.m. (No classes are held from Memorial Day through Labor Day)
At 10:00 a.m., we gather for Christian education for all ages. We currently offer:
Adult Bible Study — Meeting in the sanctuary.
Godly Play — A Montessori-inspired approach to teaching the Christian faith to younger children.
Middle School Catechesis — A class introducing young people to the doctrines and practices of the Christian faith in an age-appropriate and thoughtful way.
Visitors are warmly welcome to attend any of these classes.
Holy Communion — 11:00 a.m.
Our principal service each Sunday is Holy Communion, celebrated according to the historic 1662 Book of Common Prayer. While our worship is unmistakably liturgical and historic in form, it is also simple and restrained—marked by reverence rather than ceremony for its own sake.
If You Are New to Anglican Worship
No prior familiarity with Anglican worship is required. Service books are provided, and gentle verbal guidance is offered throughout the service. Please feel free to participate as you are comfortable. Some visitors choose to join in every response; others prefer simply to observe. Both are perfectly welcome.
Children and Families
Children are welcome in our worship and are valued members of the congregation. We encourage families to worship together, recognizing that children learn the Christian faith not only by instruction but also by participating in the Church's worship. We gladly extend patience and understanding as they grow into the rhythms of the liturgy.
A Word of Candor
Our worship is intentionally traditional and dignified. It follows historic forms rather than contemporary trends and emphasizes Scripture, prayer, preaching, and the reverent celebration of the Sacraments over entertainment or performance.
Many people find this pattern of worship to be deeply rooted, peaceful, and spiritually nourishing. Others may discover they are seeking something different, and we understand that as well.
Our desire is not to persuade anyone through novelty or production, but simply to worship God faithfully according to the received tradition of the Church. We offer this description so that you may know what to expect, trusting that God graciously leads His people where they may best grow in faith and in the knowledge of Christ.
The Holy Communion
Our service is divided into two parts: the Word of God, where we hear scripture and a sermon, and the Holy Communion, also called the Eucharist, where we receive the spiritual nourishment of Christ's body and blood.
All baptized Christians who are in love and charity with their neighbors are welcome to receive Communion with us.
Entering the Pews
Liturgical worship can feel unfamiliar at first, but its rhythms are designed to be a peaceful home for your soul. Here is what to expect when you visit.
What should I wear?
How do I participate?
Some prefer their Sunday best, while others dress casually. We care far more about your presence in the parish family than your attire.
We stand to sing, sit to listen, and kneel or bow deeply to pray. We will give gentle service prompts through the service. Each pew has sufficient service books and hymnals, and the priest will announce the numbers and pages.
A Place Prepared for You
Whether you are a lifelong Anglican or a curious seeker looking for sacred depth, our doors are open this Sunday at 10:00 AM.
