The mission of every local church should be to preserve, teach, and live the historic Christian faith, and to advance the Kingdom of God in all the earth.  For this reason, we embrace the unchangeable tenets of the faith as expressed in the Apostle's Creed and the Nicene Creed.  For a more detailed statement of our understanding of Scripture we name the Thirty-Nine Articles of Religion from the English Reformation.

The Biblical Gospel.  Biblical evangelism proclaims the resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ as God's appointed King, Judge and Savior, calls upon individuals and households to repent and be baptized into His Name for the forgiveness of sins, and to join Christ's Church in the regular  receiving of the Lord's forgiveness and grace at His table,  (Acts 2:36-42).

Reformed, Sacramental Theology.  By "Reformed" we mean that Scripture compels us to be Calvinistic and covenantal in our view of salvation, the church, the family, and indeed all of life.  By "Sacramental" we mean that Jesus Christ, by the power of His Word and Spirit, truly unites us to His own death and resurrection in holy baptism, and truly imparts to us His body and blood in the weekly partaking of The Lord's Supper.  The Sacraments are not given to us as a way to make a statement, or as acts of external obedience; they are not something that we do or perform; it is Christ who does them, and actively ministers through them.  They are the means that He has chosen for the performance of His priestly ministry.  It is ours to merely receive them from His hand with faith and humble gratitude.

Joyful, Reverent Worship.  We reject the flippancy of so many modern churches, seeking to “worship the Lord with reverence, and rejoice with trembling”, (Psalm 2:11). We believe that Christ meets with His people weekly to reaffirm and reapply His covenant promises.  He does this by hearing our confession, forgiving our sins, and imparting to us His Body and Blood as we look to Him in faith. Hence, our worship is liturgical in style.  We delight in singing the Psalms as well as solid, doctrinal hymns of the faith.

Covenant Community.  We seek to proclaim to the world that Jesus is God's appointed King and Judge, who will bring wrath upon all who ignore or hate Him, but has abundant grace for repentant sinners.  Within the church, we seek to create a new humanity, a close-knit  covenant community, formed and transformed by  the mercies of Christ and the blessings of obedience.

Family Ministry.  We believe that a truly biblical culture must be built upon biblically functioning covenant families, not upon the Darwinian model  of age-segregated peer groups. We believe that parents must be trained and equipped to disciple their own children. Likewise, children must be taught to look to their own parents for discipleship, not to their peers or to young, trendy youth ministers. We believe that “restoring the hearts of the fathers to their children and the children to their fathers” (Malachi 4:6) is absolutely essential for the reviving of Christ’s Church, so desperately needed in our day.
